 The
Cass is on the mound! Yes, we lost another classmate on August 22, 2003.
Gary Castleberry passed away from the disease he battled for almost 10
years, small cell lung cancer. He was certainly a dear friend of ours, but
more importantly he was a wonderful Dad, Grandfather and husband. Gary and
Dana Carder (Class of '65) married 37 years ago and have three daughters,
Kelly, Crystal, and Cary and five precious grandchildren, Colton, Akaylee,
Kelsee, Christopher and Ashley. Gary fought for life very courageously and
with great determination driven by his strong devotion and bond with his
family.Dana said, he could no longer continue his awesome battle against so great a foe, and more likely he couldn't watch his girls watch him suffer anymore, so he quietly slipped away. We will miss Gary. He was truly one of our stars. Gary is buried at Trinity Memorial Gardens, New Port Richey, Florida. |
